MUSIC VIDEO: Fujiya & Miyagi's "Ankle Injuries"

Remember way back when MTV was fun to watch because the videos were just so darn cool? The network may stick us with the Real World/Road Rules Challenge till the end of time, but at least some artists continue to make great and inventive music videos. Take, for example, “Ankle Injuries” for the British band Fujiya & Miyagi.

In the video, created and directed by Factory Film’s Wade Shotter, thousands of dice — some black-and-white, some brightly colored — become the building blocks for staggeringly elaborate stop-motion and computer-generated stop-motionesque imagery. Who would have thought that dice (much like the Legos in the White Stripes video) could form everything from skateboarders to tumbling gymnasts to children going down slides to the three-man band themselves with such cheeky clarity? Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that the song is very catchy to boot.
